
This is an example of what not to do while tattooing; fortunately I was not the tattooist, but unfortunately it is my art work (and my poor husband's leg!).
What happened here was two-fold:
- The tattooist went too deep with the needle, piercing the fat layer which very quickly leads to a spreading of the lines and a distinct loss of detail
- The drawing was just too small for the desired level of detail
The tattooist was a 15+ year veteran of the field and this was both my and my husband's first tattoo so I didn't know how bad it was until I became a tattooist myself.
